New role for Commission's Head of Strategy & Legal
The Commission would like to share the news that our Head of Strategy and Legal, Duncan Wilson, is moving on to a new challenge. After nearly six years with the Commission, he moves to New York at the end of October to take up a post as Project Director in the Public Health Program of the Open Society Foundations. The OSF takes a human rights based approach across its advocacy and grant making in the Public Health Program and this is a tremendous opportunity for Duncan to advance health and human rights at local and global levels.
The Commission is extremely grateful to Duncan for his very significant contribution to promoting and protecting human rights in Scotland during his time with us. Among many other things, he has been instrumental in building commitment and enthusiasm from across Scottish society to delivering Scotland’s first National Action Plan for Human Rights, an ambitious roadmap to a Scotland where everyone can live with human dignity. Duncan leaves us with our sincere thanks for all of his hard work, and with our very best wishes for the future.
The Commission is now preparing to begin an open recruitment process for the post of Head of Strategy and Legal. Full details will be available on our website, and through a public recruitment campaign, in the early autumn.
