Could you be our next part-time Commissioner?
The Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body is now recruiting for two part-time Commissioners to join the Scottish Human Rights Commission in May 2021.
This is an independent public appointment process – we don’t have any direct involvement in it. But we would like to make sure that people across our different networks in Scotland know about the opportunity to apply.
Essential skills for Commissioners include team working, influencing, communication, networking and decision making. Some understanding of human rights in practice is also needed. You can see the full role profile, find out more about what’s involved, and how to apply, via this link.
Our part-time Commissioners spend 30 days each year working on Commission business. They meet nine times a year and you can read the minutes of their past meetings on our website.
Commissioners contribute to policy development, oversee the governance of our organisation, and work on specific pieces of work relevant to their own skills and areas of expertise.
The closing date for applications is 12 noon, Monday 7 December 2020.
