Could you be one of our next part-time Commissioners?

The Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body is now recruiting for three part-time Commissioners to join the Scottish Human Rights Commission in summer 2022.

This is an independent public appointment process – we don’t have any direct involvement in it. But we would like to make sure that people across our different networks in Scotland know about the opportunity to apply. 

Essential skills for Commissioners include team working, influencing, communication, networking and decision making. Some understanding of human rights in practice is also needed. Our part-time Commissioners spend 48 days each year working on Commission business. They meet nine times a year and you can read the minutes of their past meetings on our website.

Commissioners contribute to policy development, oversee the governance of our organisation, and work on specific pieces of work relevant to their own skills and areas of expertise.
