Commission statement on the Scotland’s Commissioner Landscape report
In response to the Scottish Parliament’s Finance and Public Administration Committee’s report on ‘Scotland’s Commissioner Landscape: A Strategic Approach’, Professor Angela O’Hagan, Chair of the Commission says:
“The Commission welcomes the Finance and Public Administration Committee’s report, and the opportunities we had to participate in the Inquiry process. We thank the Committee for its detailed consideration of the issues raised.
We will now consider the recommendations and reflect on the next steps. Our focus will be to ensure that better realisation of rights is at the heart of the process. We look forward to working with MSPs, the Scottish Parliament Corporate Body, the Committee and others to participate in the next review mechanism to explore further the role of the Scottish Human Rights Commission as Scotland’s NHRI in promoting and protecting the human rights of everyone in Scotland.”
